jaguar facts

 Here are facts about jaguars. Their name; the word jaguar comes from the indigenous word yaguar which means ‘he who kills with one leap’.Their Territory; jaguars used to be found almost throw out the hole of the USA now their only found in some places most of them are found in the amazon rain forest. Their size: the jaguar is the 3 biggest cat in the world after the tiger and the lion but it is the biggest cat in the USA. They can grow up to 170 cm not including their tail which can grow up to 80 cm long, males can weigh up to 120 kg. But the jaguars in the USA can be half the size of the jaguars in the pantanal. They've got spots: most people fink that jaguar are leopards (mistake them for leopards) but you can tell the difference from a jaguar and a leopard because of their rosettes the jaguars have black spots in side some of their rosettes and leopards don’t jaguars also have rounder heads and shorter legs. They like to swim: unlike most cats jaguars avoid water and have no problem crossing big rivers and they also often live near lakes, rivers and wetlands. Their roar: both males and females roar which helps bring them together when they want to mate. When jaguars greet each or reassure one another they make a noise like nasally snuffing.
